FEBRUARY 2012 - "ARE WE THERE YET?"
We have some good news and kind of bad-but-not-tragic news. First the good news....
Human Host's first new full length album in two years was released on January 31st 2012. The name of the album is 'Jamie' and our good old friends at MT6 Records have put it out as a digital download, which makes this already wily beast of a record even more of a special thing because it's actually the first full length HH has done for MT6 since the 2006 album 'Exploding Demon'.
For each copy of the new record sold you will get a full color 'Jamie' poster, which will also be for sale for a very low price at all of our upcoming shows. This poster (created by myself and fellow HH main man Lucas Rambo) contains the complete credits for the album, a 'Jamie' inspired prose piece done up in our finest Host-ified calligraphic style, and a mass of clustered graphics bursting into life. This piece is nothing less than an 11x17 monument to what is probably the most high energy Human Host album ever.(At our shows we will also have copies of a free, smaller, flyer-style version of this poster art printed in black ink on many different shades of colored paper.)
But if you want this album/poster asap, or if you cant make it to our next show, then please get your copy of 'Jamie' - and the glowing full color poster that accompanies each purchase of it - here: www.mt6records.com
Live HH shows promoting our new album will be going on regularly throughout this year and beyond, most notably the 'Jamie' album release show in Baltimore at The Maryland Institute College Of Art's B.Box Theatre. This show is also a benefit for WICV(MICA's student run public radio station), which is also responsible for putting on this event. Thanks WICV!
Ok, now for the kinda bad news....
Contrary to an earlier estimation of January as the time when there'd be a rough cut ready, completion of the "The Human Host Movie" will probably not occur until March. As I have said over and over again, good things take time, especially when you are working with the kind of limited budget and resources that we have had so far. Keeping that in mind, please rest assured in knowing that absolutely nothing disastrous has befallen any part of the post production work and the picture is almost completely finished. Things are just moving slowly, very very steadily, but slowly.
O.k., hopefully we'll see you out there or at one of our upcoming shows.
Take care,
Mike Apichella
